Buildings in Boston, MA

So I don't know the name of this building, but I believe if you are looking at city hall like from the Government Center T station, it is directly to your left. It intrigued me because of the shapes of the buildings and how one is inset some. Also in the left building, you can see a couple of different windows. The original colors were kind of weird, so I decided to use the Sepia and it worked extremely well. I love how the clouds turned out and the lamp posts. Overall, there isn't really anything about this picture just something intrigues me with me with. I still have not quite point my finger on it so if anyone has any thoughts or comments please feel free to leave them! What is your take on it? Intriguing, boring, ugly?? There are no wrong answers and feelings won't be hurt.. Photos are art, everyone sees it from a different angle!

Pier Chain

Pier Chain

This picture intrigued me because there are so many different aspects and colors if one takes the time to look. There is the granite, metal, wood, ocean and brick. The line of the chain and the line of the granite pillars seemed so cool. I also like the shadow cast by the iron as well.. I love lines especially straight ones formed with objects. I am sure you will be seeing more examples like this.. It is also interesting the line of wood from the pier too!

Canadian Geese on Hager Pond

Canadian Geese can be very annoying to most people especially Bostonians I have decided. Back home in FL, Canadian Geese are very mysterious and intriguing, in Boston all people do is complain about them and how they poo everywhere.. I still have some interest in them and they are still a bird which equals grace.. This one I loved because i thought the tree framed it well. Hope it is enjoyed as much as I did when I took it..

Odette

Odette

Well I think this one is self explanatory of why I took it. Odette is my 4 year old Mini Schnauzer who I adopted in July 2005 .. Her birthday is March 9, 2005 which is exactly one week before mine!! I adore this dog. She is completely spoiled and I am sure there will be many more pictures of her. This one was taken this past weekend in Marlborough. Dave and I decided to take pup and go get subs and ice cream. We got the subs and then went to a gazebo and watched the geese. Odette enjoyed it just as much and watched every move I made when I was taking photos. She is one photographic dog and will soon be my first model ( once she is groomed and bathed).. If you look closely you can see the crumbs around her mouth from her picking up the cracker and bread crumbs left from people feeding the geese. She adores pink just like her mom can you tell?? My little baby munchkin!!!!

Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market

Well the thoughts about this photo... There really isn't a moving story to it but history. This building has been around for so long and seen so much change. It has been a meeting hall and market place since 1742 Who could not love the grasshopper weather vane which you really can't see here. Did you know the weather vane was at one time used to determine if you were a spy or not??? If you were a suspected spy you would be asked to identify the object atop Faneuil Hall. If you correctly answered you were set free, if you did not you were convicted as a British Spy.... Also who doesn't love Sam Adams!!! I was walking up the stairs next to City Hall when I looked back and loved all the colors. The brick popped, the sky was blue, there was a shadow being cast on the side of the building, plus the trees and the flowers. So much history in one picture!

Under the Bridge

Under the Bridge

So this photo was taken early in the day. It was a horrible pic but after many hours of editing it came out decent. This pic says so much. All the elements can't wear away the wood. Maybe it has, but to the average person, one won't know. Its like putting on a stage face or act... The audience thinks its part of the play but little do they know you have broken an ankle or there is something seriously wrong.

Solid vs Liquid..

Boston Harbor

They were interesting but there were so many people and so much commotion. I just was looking at the water to get a break and that is how this picture came about. It is very simple but I feels says so much. Its wood vs water. The wood at one time needed water to become that wood.. Solid vs Liquid...

So things in life have been kind of tough with the loss of my mother April 26 and my Dad going back into the Hospital June 24th. Dave and I bought a new camera. My dream a Nikon D40 as a starter camera. I am enjoying it a lot and still have so much to learn. I am hoping to post a picture a day with what inspired me to take it here. Please feel free to critique or leave comments!! My first one is of the purple flowers out near our mail house. It is soft and calming and I had been having a very frustrating day at work and decided to come home at lunch and shoot a few pics.. It definitely relaxed me and it is one of my favorite pics now!
